Alan, I have a dead short in my gauge assembly on my carb test bike and since there are only eight light sockets that have their bulb holders set in molded rubber, the short proved hard to find. There really isn't any electrical stuff inside the gauges except the two lights in each. I forgot I had a gauge assembly on my project 77 KZ750B so I cleaned it up some and mounted it on the carb test bike. I will now have some time to find a spare... thanks... wg

If you can hang onto it, I plan to eventually try and talk you into doing some painting as I was pretty pleased with that green paint. You could send it along at that time if you aren't going to use it. I am pretty handy at rehabbing old harnesses if they are not totally trashed. About 1/2 of them are all cut up when you get them off eBay. Thanks! wg

I am working on an engine rebuild for a fella... when I finish that job, I am going to drag the 750 into the shop and pull the engine and get the frame to a powder coater and will contact you at that point about the painting. I was going to "restore" the bike but have not been able to find the correct color to match the paint. If I can't match the paint, I may decide to do something "custom" with the side covers. The shape of the stock side covers is horrible and keeps the 750 from have a pleasing look. I am going to post a pic of a 79 KZ750 with stock side cover... note there is also a long and skinny piece that sits above the side cover to fill in the area between the seat and side cover which you can barely see in this pic. I think the bike would look a bunch better with a KZ900 side cover (Maier aftermarket part probably). Whatcha think? In the last pic, I put a Maier KZ900 side cover (green) on the KZ750...
