I have a Kawasaki seat I don't need that was on my '82 KZ1000. It did not fit my '82 (too high in the back).

The seat is in great shape -- no tears or punctures. Here is a photo of it on the bike when I bought it (you can see that the back is too high).  Maybe it will fit a '78?

I have searched every cycle shop & salvage operation I could find and had given up trying to buy a seat.
I got a call this morning from Garbers Honda- Kawasaki in Fairbury,Nebraska asking if I had found a seat yet.  They were doing an inventory of vintage nos parts when they came across a seat for me.  It was still in original Kawasaki wrap, has the 1978 info sticker on the seat pan. The only problem was they were asking $425.00 for it! I went to their shop and inspected it and it is perfect. The dickering began at 9:30 AM and I walked out with it at 11:30 AM $275.00 poorer!  The main thing is after I sold my KZ900 25 years ago I'm back on the road on my new to me KZ1000 that sure seems to put a smile on my face!   Grin

That seat would probably bring a thousand bucks. Good go. Roy

YIKES!

I have a tough time shelling out a grand for a whole BIKE, much less a SEAT!

Anyway, I suppose that's the price to pay for certain bikes. I'm glad i still have my original pipes for my '80 KZ1000 although i'll probably never re-install them...
